Spring Torah Blooms at Moriah

In this monthly feature, we showcase one of our Shorashim Partners - this month features The Moriah School.

In 2018, The Moriah School of Englewood partnered with GrowTorah, joining the Shorashim program. From an early point, Moriah shared a vision with GrowTorah to cultivate a more passionate, compassionate and sustainable future driven by Torah values.

Every week, classes attend lessons in the bountiful Gribetz Family Educational Garden with Farmer Sara. These lessons are rooted in texts and values from the weekly parsha. Each lesson contains a parsha learning goal relating to GrowTorah’s Core Values, an interactive garden exploration, and garden work. Moriah provides a unique Shorashim experience as the garden sits in a central courtyard, visible to various classes and frequent hallway-travelers.

The Moriah School has been the perfect host to welcome the spring season!

A special thank you to Dawn Wohlrab for designing the magnificent Gribetz Family Educational Garden!

At GrowTorah, we are privileged to work with many extraordinary partners, including those in our Shorashim program. For each of our Shorashim partners, we build beautiful vegetable gardens on-site, where our staff teach weekly lessons for the students throughout the growing season. One of our phenomenal partners is The Moriah School located in Englewood, NJ. They are a Modern Orthodox, co-ed Jewish Day School.
