Emunah in Nature at NSHA's GrowTorah Garden

In this monthly feature, we showcase one of our Shorashim Partners - this month features North Shore Hebrew Academy.

We have been blessed with an exceptional fit for a Shorashim partner in NSHA since 2019 as they share our value to connect with nature and relate it to the place we each occupy in God’s spectacular universe. Farmer Spence Weitzen has been highlighting nature themes found in the weekly parsha for students and guiding them into action in the garden. The newly renovated GrowTorah garden and outdoor classroom - Gan Judy, named in loving memory of Judy Weinstein, z”l, has hosted lessons on sustainability, emunah in Hashem vis-à-vis our natural resources, shmita, and more! See you next week in the garden, North Shore Hebrew Academy!

A special thank you to Rabbi Kobrin, Rachel Spinner, Abby Weiss, and the NSHA PTA for making GrowTorah feel right at home in the NSHA community.

At GrowTorah, we are privileged to work with many extraordinary partners, including those in our Shorashim program. For each of our Shorashim partners, we build beautiful vegetable gardens on-site, where our staff teach weekly lessons for the students throughout the growing season. One of our phenomenal partners is North Shore Hebrew Academy, a Modern Orthodox, co-educational yeshiva day school in Great Neck, NY.
