Pokeach Ivrim - Appreciating the hidden, subtle blessings all around us:

בָּרוּךְ אַתָּה ה אֱלֹ-ינוּ מֶֽלֶךְ הָעוֹלָם פּוֹקֵֽחַ עִוְרִים

During the morning brachot, we thank Hashem for giving sight to the blind. We are all somewhat blind to what we don't see. This game allows us to see the beauties that others see and to pause for “mah rabu moments” of awe.

Torah to guide us: 

Tehillim 104:24

מָה־רַבּוּ מַעֲשֶׂיךָ ה’ כֻּלָּם בְּחָכְמָה עָשִׂיתָ מָלְאָה הָאָרֶץ קִנְיָנֶךָ׃

How many are the things You have made, O LORD; You have made them all with wisdom; the earth is full of Your creations. 

Kohelet Rabbah 7:13:1

בשעה שברא הקדוש ברוך הוא את אדם הראשון, נטלו והחזירו על כל אילני גן עדן, ואמר לו: ראה מעשי כמה נאים ומשובחין הן, וכל מה שבראתי, בשבילך בראתי, תן דעתך שלא תקלקל ותחריב את עולמי, שאם קלקלת אין מי שיתקן אחריך.

At the time that the Holy One created the first man, He introduced him to every tree in the Garden of Eden, and said to him, ‘See how wonderful and pleasant these trees are. And all of this I have created for you; therefore take great care that you do not damage and destroy My world, for if you do there is no one else to put right what you have destroyed.’

Making a 1-match Waterproof Fire

To make a fire with 1 match, you’ll need:

1. A clean fire pit

2. Birch Bark (כליפת לבנה)

3. Pine or Hemlock twigs (זרדי אורן או רוש)

4. Lots of small branches, up to 1” thick. (ענפים קטנים)

5. 1 match (גפרור)

6. Patience (סבלנות)

Waterproof Shelter (מקלט עמיד למים)

Here are the steps to building a waterproof shelter with your hands and the forest (no tools). להלן השלבים לבניית מקלט עמיד למים עם הידיים והיער (ללא כלים).

1. A flat location near a Y-split tree, or boulder (3’ high)

   1. Y מיקום שטוח ליד עץ בפיצול

2. 1 long spine branch (taller than your outstretched arm)

3. 1 layer of branches to create the frame

4. 1 layer of leafs for waterproofing

5. 2 more layers of branches and leaves

6. Leave a small doorway to crawl in
