Sinai & GrowTorah: Our Growing Partnership

Every one of our GrowTorah partnerships looks a bit different, and we are proud to customize our offerings to meet the needs of our partners.  When SINAI Schools approached us 4 years ago asking how we might be able to work together, we were thrilled at the opportunity to bring our nature-based Torah education programs to students with different learning, developmental, and other special needs. The goal was to tailor vocational training opportunities for their students with our team. 

Each year, we work with the Sinai administration and job coaches to match the students with some of our special projects. Through this vocational training, GrowTorah benefits from the amazing work of these students, and the Sinai students benefit from a genuine work experience, and help to create a more sustainable community. We work closely with the job coach to focus on specific learning goals each semester.

This year, Sinai students have helped us with so many aspects of our work. With the help of their incredibly talented job coach, Mr. Yehuda Heller, they helped us organize our seed library, sort and manage our tool inventory, and much more. Most recently, they’ve helped us pilot a composting program with a local restaurant, diverting over 50 pounds of food waste from landfill each week!
