Engaging in Nature at the Kaplen JCC on the Palisades

In this monthly feature, we showcase one of our Shorashim Partners - this month features the Kaplen JCC on the Palisades.

In March 2017, the Kaplen JCC on the Palisades became one of GrowTorah’s Shorashim Partners. We have reveled in the diverse experiences we are blessed to have with them. Each week, Farmer Spence teaches, farms with, and learns from the preschool, senior program, and special services program. At the JCC, GrowTorah is blessed to engage in a range of activities, from adult environmental lessons to preschoolers actings as seeds to pickling! We can’t wait to see our friends and garden at the JCC in the spring!

A special thank you to Judi Nahary for making GrowTorah feel right at home in the Kaplen JCC on the Palisades community.

At GrowTorah, we are privileged to work with many extraordinary partners, including those in our Shorashim program. For each of our Shorashim partners, we build beautiful vegetable gardens on-site, where our staff teach weekly lessons for the students throughout the growing season. One of our phenomenal partners is The Kaplen JCC on the Palisades located in Tenafly, NJ. They are a Jewish Community Center, deeply rooted in Jewish values and tradition, that welcomes all and cultivates the social, intellectual, physical, and spiritual well-being of the entire community.
